(Deborah, I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember the TV comedy ‘Up Pompeii’ – but who can forget Frankie Howerd when introduced to a new slave girl: “Scrubba? Such a pretty name!”)
Sadly I am indeed old enough to recall Up Pompeii and the wonderfully attired young ladies, such as Scrubba, who decorated the set. Sadly I guess the PC BBC would throw its hands up in horror at such a spectacle these days.
